Nutrition plays one of the biggest roles in achieving your goals, as it is a key component to body composition, athletic performance, and overall health. We are excited to help you reach your athletic and aesthetic goals. With Black Iron Nutrition, you will be taught everything needed to comprehend a simple scientific, effective, and long term approach to nutrition and eating specifically for your body and goals (not someone else’s). You will continue to learn through weekly check-ins with the Black Iron Nutrition team, the community Facebook group, and exclusive content posted regularly to help your metal game stay strong.

We believe that every person needs a unique plan and we can’t stress enough how important communication and compliance are in order to get the desired results. We will hold you accountable while also understanding that you are human… Black Iron Nutrition never demands perfection, only continuous honesty and effort from our clients. While we do typically take the macro counting approach with flexible dieting, we have now worked with enough people to know that there will be unique situations where a person may do better with a different approach. We WILL find what works best for you through trial and error and consistency.

Another aspect of Black Iron Nutrition that makes us unique, is that we really attempt to determine what an athlete’s biggest mental hang up is. We care most about your mental health and determining deeper rooted issues when it comes to food and nutrition can help one overcome things that have prevented progress in past diets. We want you to feel empowered and in control when it comes to nutrition.

• On-Boarding Form (to be filled out and returned ASAP)

Upon receiving your filled out on-boarding form, we will enter your customized macros in to a spreadsheet and share it with you via Google Drive along with more info and directions on how to fill out your spreadsheet and approach your individualized nutrition plan. You will check in with us weekly once completing the spreadsheet. Upon reviewing your feedback and progress over the course of the week, we will update the spreadsheet with macro adjustments for the following week. We will repeat this process for as long as you choose to be a Black Iron Nutrition athlete! (This is a monthly service and you will be auto-drafted and may cancel at any time.)

The Facebook group will act as a support group where we can easily and quickly answer your questions; you may post questions, recipes, progress pictures, etc. Everyone in the group is very active, friendly, and helpful!

Krissy Mae Cagney, Kelsey Kiel, Ashley Beaver, & Maggie Shaffer

Head nutritionist, Krissy Mae Cagney, has experience with elite athletes across multiple sports, specializing in CrossFit, powerlifting, weightlifting and strongman. Beyond strength sports, she has served as the team nutritionist for the New York Jets as well as works with individuals in multiple professional sports. Prior to working with athletes, Krissy was a weight loss coach and has helped multiple clients lose 100 pounds. Krissy has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years and has coached over 10,000 people.

Full time assistant coaches, Ashley and Kelsey, have both completed nutrition internships as well as possess Precision Nutrition L1 Certifications. Ash and Kels have worked with over 2500 athletes across multiple sports through Black Iron Nutrition and continue to broaden their horizons through an unquenchable thirst for knowledge when it comes to nutrition. 

Part time assistant coach, Maggie Shaffer, was introduced to the sport of CrossFit in 2012 and quickly felt that coaching was her passion. Since then she has received her L1 & L2 CrossFit certifications and continues to learn as much as possible in order to become the most effective coach she can be. Maggie began her internship with Black Iron Nutrition in the Spring of 2017 and believes in the power of food and nutrition in regards to mental and physical health.
